The 248PT is designed to spread compost across rows of varying widths with ease. Its 122 cm spread can be narrowed with the optional adjustable spread kit to match your row spacing, while the 140 cm straddle width helps keep wheel compaction outside the beds. With a machine height of 25 cm, it stays well above raised beds. At its widest opening, the spreader can apply material up to 5 cm deep, helping reduce the need for multiple passes.
It comes equipped with a standard tractor tow tongue for use with the drawbars of conventional compact tractors. The ground-drive system uses power from both wheels, giving the machine twice the traction moving forward while preventing the belt from rotating in reverse. During operation, material is carried to the front of the machine on an apron conveyor belt and forced under an adjustable end gate for better control. That gate helps determine spread depth, though results may vary depending on the material being used.
